My Favourite Travel and Life Tools

Whether I’m working remotely abroad, planning my next trip, or just managing life from my laptop, I often get asked: “What tools do you actually use?”

So here’s my honest list of favorite resources — some I use daily, others I recommend based on different work styles and goals. You’ll also find a few affiliate links (meaning if you purchase via these links, I may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you). Thanks for supporting my journey!

Travel Tools I Love

Planning a trip?

These are some of my favorite tools that make travel smoother, cheaper, and more fun — from ride-sharing apps like BlaBlaCar to unique ways to explore like renting a campervan. Whether you’re saving money or craving more freedom on the road, these resources are tried, tested, and totally worth checking out.

Too Good to Go

This app allows you to live consciously by paying an extremely discounted price for a “mystery” bag of goods from a store which is filled with the remaining items they have left that day which would otherwise go to waste. Whether I’m in Lisbon or Zürich, I always try to check the local market an support the stoppage of food wastage!

Depop

A great app to buy secondhand clothes and to thrift with. Even when you’re travelling, it could save you some serious dollars.

Finance Tools

When it comes to managing money while traveling or working remotely, I use both Wise and Revolut — each has its strengths depending on the currency and region.

Why both? Revolut keeps my everyday banking simple, while Wise helps me save on exchange rates and send money globally. Having both gives me flexibility and better control over my travel finances.

Revolut

This is my Go-To for Europe. Revolut is my go-to for low-fee deposits (a €100 deposit costs me just €1.50 compared to €3.59 with Wise), easy EUR payments across nearby countries, and seamless daily spending. It’s also a great way to earn miles through regular card use.

Wise

This is the best for Global transfers. Wise supports over 40 currencies, including BRL, making it perfect for international payments with great exchange rates. It was my lifeline during three months of travel through South America!
